farmer, did you look at the pictures posted with this article? If you actually take the time, it’s very sad. And you’re completely off the mark in saying few would miss them. Their families already do… Drug addiction is a tragedy; there’s no other way to describe it. Andrew Crowder is my cousin and I can attest to the fact that he grew up in a good family and had so much potential, until a tragic and brutal attack that happened while he away at college. After that, he slowly became addicted to pain pills and then obviously, so much more. Yes, it’s good they’re off the streets right now…but not just for society, also for themselves. They deserve the chance to become clean. Before people judge, they should really step back and realize this is someone’s daughter, son, father, mother, friend, sister, brother….cousin. And we do miss them.
I would agree the Dtown has had it’s problems in the past Mary in Abingdon, but not sure where you get it has a drug reputation, except mainly the dumba** police chief that was arrested for this same thing, but 80 percent of drug arrests around here are in the Abingdon area, not Damascus. And the guy busted here for some reason has a Damascus address which is wierd because he’s not from here but Taylors Valley road, right next to Laurel Bloomery, Tn about 6 miles past Damascus
I agree Mary in Abingdon. A good start would be punish these fools. Put them away!!! Society would be much better off, and my guess is, few would miss them.
It is truely wonderful that Damascus may (hopefully) get the drug-reputation cleaned-up!
