Lottery Lawsuit Has Virginia Residents Concerned About Their Chances Of Winning Big

    Virginia residents are expressing concern after a lawsuit filed in Lexington, Virginia claims the state scratch off tickets were sold even after the top prize had been won.  The lawsuit sites breach of contract from the lottery.  According to Executive Director of the Virginia Lottery, Paula Otto, there should be no question concerning the scratch off tickets.  “I want to assure players that if you buy a scratch ticket at a Virginia retailer you’re buying a ticket that still has a top prize in play.“ said Otto.  She told News Channel Eleven in a phone interview that when they were made aware of concerns involving tickets being sold after the prize was claimed, they immediately looked back at their numerous scratch off games, and made sure to remove those games in question. 
    The lawsuit was filed but the state lottery has not been served with the lawsuit.  This September the Virginia State Lottery will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
