Ben,
You stated that robbers should be locked up. This is robery from the state and county. The max he would serve is two years. The max. And you know that with plea arrangments, he would get much less.
You said take his home and business. If all of these items are financed, then the banks are the ones who would loose not him. If there is no punishment, then there is no reason for people to stop comitting crimes.
And to state that anyone who beleives that this crime is worthy of jail time, is in favor of putting Rapists and murders on the street. Makes no since. You want to be selective as to which laws are important to you to enforce. Both should be in jail.
If everyone in this country could pick and choose which laws they feel are importnat and only follow those. Our country would fall apart quickly.
This is theft from every customer that came in and bought a meal. The tax was collected above teh price of the meal. It was taken a few dollars at a time. If a gun had been used to force more money from the customers, would that then become a crime?? Ben said it was not a real crime, like robbery. $60,000 sounds like a large theft to me.
This money was taken form every person in the county, including those who recieve public support in any type. Fire protection, roads, schools, police and every facet of our comunnity.
Robin I feel for your family situation. The death tax was something which our new Prseident said he would not cut. So nothing will schange.
I do agree with you Ben. It is really sad times we are living in. It’s ok for the government to take from us no matter what our situations may be, but you wrong the government and it’s punishment time. My dad past away owing the IRS $900.00 and they are threatening to take his place, which is now all my mom has and she is disabled and can barely make it on what’s little she draws from disability. They told her that when my dad died, his responsiblitiy to pay off that debt fell on her. Isn’t that low down and dirty to do a widow that way ? My dad has only been gone 3 years ( almost 4 )
and this is the last thing she needed to have thrown at her. I really hope our NEW president makes some much needed changes in our country.
Well, Ben you need to ask your self “WHATS WRONG WITH YOUR GENERATION”. Thats the problem with our country now and very well could be part of our economy problem that is no one seems to have any accountability for their actions or debts. It seems like most younger people today believe every one owes them something.I also wonder if Ben ever stopped to realize what would happen if he moved to Russia or Mexico and opened a business and failed to pay over a half million dollars in a debt owed to their goverment….Hmmmmm (Just Food For Thought)
