A massive rock slide on I-40 in North Carolina will close a portion of that road for as long as 3 months forcing thousands of extra vehicles onto I-26.

It is estimated that as many as 15,000 extra cars and trucks will be using interstate 26 on a daily basis. The Johnson City Police Department says that we can expect to see an increase in accidents and speeders looking to make up lost time.

Gas stations and other businesses along I-26 have seen a dramatic increase in business since the I-40 closure and that cold be the silver lining for an otherwise ugly mess over the next several months.

Why don`t johnson city let the traffic move thru at a fast speeed and keep it moving . No the JC police dept says they will slow them down and issue tickets for the traffic moving to fast they want money and that`s a easy way to get it . i suggest people take a differ route than come thru johnson City.
