Horse Crushes Child In Carter Co. Car Crash

A child was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center after a freak accident near Roan Mountain.
Carter County Dispatchers tell Your Tri-Cities News Source, it happened between eight and nine o’clock Sunday night along 19-E.

News Channel 11 reports, the mother was driving with the child in the passenger seat. That’s when a driver in an oncoming vehicle flashed his or her headlights. When the mother began to check her car, at least one horse came barreling though the window, crushing the child.

Emergency workers had received calls of several horses roaming around the highway.

Dispatchers say the child was flown to JCMC.
So far, there are no details on the child’s status.
