Greene Co., Tenn.—Greene Co. Sheriff, Steve Burns, tells 11 Connects that his department has 47 year-old Leonard Hill, of 4100 Fish Hatchery Road, Mohawk, Tenn., in custody. Hill is a suspect for the homicide of 20 year-old Kimberly M. Presley, of 1215 Buffalo Trail, Morristown, Tenn.
Greene County investigators recovered Presley’s body at Exit 4 of Interstate 81, in Jefferson Co., Tenn., just after 8 p.m. Saturday night. They were led to this recovery based on their investigation. They are working with Jefferson and Hamblen Counties for more information. They believe the homicide was committed at Hill’s home at 4100 Fish Hatchery Road, and the body was transported to the side of the highway, where it was recovered.
Sheriff Burns says that Hill and Presley had a previous relationship.
11 Connects will bring more information as it becomes available.

mmclgothlin423 Your good at mistakes. If you become unemployed you may get one of those low paying jobs at BHC.
And by the way this story was about someone who was a Homicide. So Sad for the family.

I agree about the spelling and gramatical errors, I would like to think that spell check is an option these reporters might use or perhaps a dictionary if the news department has one. It is sad about death, but jumping on the poster about the spelling errors does not take away from the story or make him a lesser person. He was just stating the facts or poor writing by what are supposed to be trained and educated journalists.  I am with him, attention to small details such as writing leads to careless reporting and it is a reporters job to clarify all the facts and double check the facts and then the story in whole before being published. These reporters need to take the time and do the job right the first time. Dana Wachter needs to watch her stories.

This was an awful, tragic situation and I feel for the family and friends of the victim. They will be in my thoughts and prayers.  With this being said, I still have a major problem with factual inaccuracies and poor writing from people who are supposed to check facts and write articles for a living.  Had this been the first article on 11 connects I had read with these problems, I would not have commented.  This is the fourth or fifth story I have read from 11 connects with flagrant errors and inaccuracies.  I just feel it is important for these reporters to get the facts right in the first place and then report them in a readable fashion.

mmclgothlin423:

I completely agree. I’m sure English teachers all over the tri-cities are reading these reports and are clicking their bright red pens in frustration over the poor writing and grammar.

By the way, did you also notice that in this report a 20-year-old woman, from the Tri-Cities, was murdered and thrown out on the side of the highway like a piece of garbage?  Just wondering?

I’m sure you mean Hamblen county not Hammond county.  I was compelled to register to be able to post comments based on the poor writing and errors in reporting I have observed here over the last few weeks. I have seen several stories with inaccuracies and poor writing and this story features both!
