In the portable gaming market, Nintendo has yet again dominated with its touch-screen controlled console called the DS (dual-screen).
Players can hold the DS like a traditional gamepad or like a book, and use a stylus to mark on the touch-screen.
Nintendo has released many games for the DS under a campaign to advertise to older or unfamiliar gamers called “Touch Generations.”
Many games under that title have included the popular “Brain Age” series, which features puzzles testing memory, logic and visual recognition, “True Swing Golf” and recently “CrossWords.”
The great thing about “CrossWords” is that, on top of featuring 1,000 crossword puzzles to choose from in varying difficulty, players have access to other popular word games, like “Word Search” and “Anagrams.”
Word nerds rejoice!
The game also features handwriting recognition, so unfamiliar players will have no problem figuring out the controls.
Nintendo has streamlined all the confusing menus into a simple interface.
If you’re the kind of person scared to do a hard crossword puzzle in ink, don’t worry – with a digital game, there’s always the erase button.
“CrossWords” retails for a budget price of $20 and is rated E for Everyone.
