Former Sheriff John Henson Guilty Of Simple Assault
Former Carter County Sheriff John Henson will spend six months on probation after a judge found him guilty of assaulting a woman at a laundromat on Watauga Road in Johnson City. In Washington County Sessions Court, Judge James Nidiffer found Henson guilty of simple assault Monday, saying the former sheriff was offensive when he put his arm around a woman and pulled her close back in April.
Instead of sending Henson to jail for six months for the misdemeanor, Nidiffer placed Henson on unsupervised probation. The judge ordered the former sheriff to pay a $50 fine and to have no contact with the victim in this case.
Henson has 10 days to appeal the verdict.

I saw this incident happen. It happened in front of me. She was a willing participant in the hugging. She even told him that she was glad for all of the help he had given her while she was incarcerated. I think that the video at the store should be viewed. I have no interest invested in this case. I feel she may be out to get a quick buck if she chooses to sue him.
Why did he do that? Did he think he was gonna get lucky? He is a perv and should be farted on. He was an awful sheriff and an even worse human. But who really cares? Not me. If he would have touched me or my wife i would have put him in the morgue. The ole fart.
Just a slap on the wrist for him cause he use to be a sheriff… If it was anyone else it would be a year of supervised probation…
