Fall Branch Teen Wins SPAM Recipe Contest

Here’s the winning recipe from the recent Great American SPAM Championship at the Appalachian Fair.

Congratulations to MacKenzie Parks, age 13, of Fall Branch, Tennessee for her Broccoli SPAM Quiche recipe.

Ingredients:

1 can SPAM Classic, chopped and fried
1 cup broccoli, cooked and chopped
2 cups Colby jack cheese
4 large eggs      
1-1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup sour cream
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 refrigerated pie crust

Method:

Heat the oven to 425 degrees. Sprinkle SPAM, cheese and broccoli in unbaked pie crust (9-inch pie pan). Mix remaining ingredients and pour into crust. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake for 30 additional minutes.
