Yes, drivers should pay more attention but in most cases a cycle is going to fast and the driver can not see them in their side mirrors until it is too late, not saying this is the case here. I am sorry for any family who loses a love one.
Although I agree flashing lights draw more attention, shouldn’t you be demanding that drivers pay attention in the first place?! We already burn our headlights 24/7 to draw attention. Why not just require us to wear a yellow chicken suit as well? I’m sure that would draw more attention from inattentive drivers. In these cases, drivers are the problem, not riders.
I am very saddened by this as the motorcyclist was the father of a very dear friend!
People do not pay enough attention when they are driving these days! Cell phones/texting/ whatever. Drivers need to be MORE aware. Accidents DO happen but bikers are at risk the most it seems.
The car driver is going to get off with a slap on the wrist for killing a man.
Motorcycles are always the losers! They need some flashing signs to let motorist see them clearly.
