The City of Watauga, Tennessee fired one of its two police officers.  The one who once served as Sheriff of Carter County.

City leaders fired John Henson Thursday, July 16.

Just one month earlier,  the Watauga City Commission voted to keep Henson on the force, despite the fact he had been convicted on a simple assault charge in Washington County, Tennessee.

Watauga City Manager Hattie Skeens would not say why Henson was fired, only it was not related to the assault conviction.

They will have to give the other one a radar gun for each hand to keep ticket revenue up.

The whole notion of a wide spot in the road like Watauga being a “city” with cops is a joke.

I think he should have been fired a month ago. What if it was someone else that got convicted of a crime and they worked there ? Make’s you wonder don’t it
