Ca. Fugitive Held In Greene Co. With $8.8 Million Bond

A fugitive from justice from California has been apprehended in Afton, Tenn.

James Sweeney was arrested by Greene County detectives on Wednesday morning at his home on Ripley Island Road.

The California Department of Justice currently has felony charges on Sweeney for multiple counts of felony fraud and theft, according to reports from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
Sweeney has been charged with being a fugitive from justice by Greene Co. officials and is currently being held in Greene Co. until extradition. His bond is $8.8 million.
