Bristol Virginia
Police Department
Nov. 3

* The clerk working at an Old Airport Road gas station didn’t call police when a Chevy pickup crashed into the building around 3:15 a.m. because he thought there was no damage to the station. His manager disagreed, and called police a couple hours later.
* Police were called to East Mary Street when an old lady began “interfering with construction crew that is in demolition” at noon.
* A Randolph Street woman evidently left her pocketbook, containing $1,800 cash, inside her car parked outside her house, unattended for three days. She told police at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday that the “last time she’d seen the purse or drove the car was on Saturday.”
* A Denton Lane woman called police at 7:48 p.m. to say that her boyfriend, whose license is suspended, was trying to “take her white Chrysler.” She called back to cancel the report once she drove off in her own car.
* Police were on the lookout for a white Chevy S-10 pickup, after the man driving it tried to pass a fake $100 bill at the Burger King drive-thru, then took off in an unknown direction.
* Someone called from Euclid Avenue to say that a “scruffy looking” bearded man wearing a sweatshirt leapt in front of their car at midnight and said he was “looking for his stuff.”

* The Douglass School Apartments Neighborhood Watch will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
