UPDATE 11/24:

A Johnson City man faces charges of attempted first degree murder after police say he shot another man at a local apartment complex.

Johnson City Police tell 11 Connects Jose Guzman shot Fabian Peralta around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night outside of Spurrier Apartments on John Exum Parkway. The incident ocurred about a mile from Science Hill High School.

Investigators say the two men were involved in an argument outside of their apartment complex, when Guzman fired a gun and hit Peralta in the arm and the back. Emergency crews rushed Peralta to Johnson City Medical Center. At last report, Peralta was in stable condition.

Police say the motive of the shooting is still unclear at this time.

A man was shot around 7:30 Monday night outside Spurrier Apartments on John Exum Parkway between Science Hill High School and Market Street.

Investigators told 11 Connects two hispanic males were involved in an argument outside of their apartment complex, when one fired a gun and hit the other man in the arm and the back.  That man was rushed to Johnson City Medical Center and is in stable condition. 

The Johnson City Police Department said they do have a suspect in custody, but the motive is unclear at this time.

I swear the gun just jumped up and shot him. I tried to stop it. Darn gun won’t stay in the house. Just like a kid all ways following mom and dad around under foot.
