One man was killed after crashing his car into the back of a school bus around 7:30 a.m. Monday.  All 38 students aboard the bus and its driver were okay, according to Bobby Rader with WGRV radio.

The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 11-E and South Chuckey Ruritan Road, also known as Old Stage Road.

Emergency workers checked each student out at the scene.  One family sent their child to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

The victim crashed into the bumper of the school bus, sheared off the top of his vehicle, rolled another 150 yards across the median, and crashed into a guardrail, Rader said.

The accident was backing up traffic.  One southbound lane was open and both northbound lanes were closed at 8:30 a.m.
