June 14
* Two bearded men begged for money at a Lee Highway fast-food restaurant, saying they needed cash to get to Marion, Va., in a Cadillac they’d parked down the road. Minutes later, they were seen in the Cadillac, cursing and possibly drinking.
June 15
* Four horses were spotted at the end of Indiana Street at 7:12 a.m. The owner promptly picked them up.
* A caller reported that a couple in a green van pulled up to them in a parking lot on Euclid Avenue and offered cheap Marlboros.
* An Andover Road woman reported that an unknown person took off on a lawn mower and drove it down the road. She suspected it was being stolen.
June 16
* A man on the west end of town reported receiving a phone call from his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend. He did not know why he called, but told police he was scared of the man. The caller also told the officer that he is not gay.
* A man on Heritage Drive shouted nasty things at children and tried to pick fights with people.

June 15
* A Carolina Avenue man reported a theft around 4:30 p.m., when his ex-girlfriend came by to get her furniture.
* On Hill Street, a man took out several trash cans with his car around 5 p.m. before officers caught up with him in a Volunteer Parkway parking lot. He failed a sobriety test, admitted he was drunk and advised officers to take him to jail.
* Around 6:30 p.m., a woman reported that an unknown woman called her home and tried to sell her a vehicle warranty. When she declined, the woman threatened to come to her home and hurt her.
June 16
* A person in a white van pumped $45 worth of gas and left the station without paying.
* An anonymous caller reported that she found a Bristol College Drive woman lying on the floor drinking a bottle of cleaner. When officers arrived, the woman said she was merely napping, had not consumed any cleaner and did not need medical attention.
