* An East Mary Street resident arrived home at 11:23 p.m. to find a man wandering around her house. He might have even stepped onto the porch, she said. Officers searched the neighborhood but could not find the mystery man.
* At 11:30 p.m., officers cruised Euclid Avenue searching for a man reportedly sitting in a white Hyundai Sonata and smoking marijuana. They did not find him.
* A man carrying a stick and surrounded by friends shouted threats as he trolled along New Hampshire Avenue at 11:38 p.m. By midnight, a police officer had the man’s assurance that he would cause no more trouble. Extra patrols were ordered in case the man reneged on his promise.
* Water poured from a vacant Second Street apartment through the overhead light fixture of the apartment below. The downstairs resident called dispatchers at 2:58 a.m. after failing to reach the manager. Dispatchers contacted the manager, who said that help was on the way.
* Police helped reunite a purse lost on State Street with its owner. An officer looked to the Salvation Army for help in finding the owner. The purse was back in her hands two hours later.

* At 11:16 p.m., firefighters confronted a car fully ablaze at the intersection of Shadow Wood and Red Stone roads. Responding firefighters doused the fire with foam, and cleared the scene an hour later.
