First let me say I am glad all these drugs are off the streets.. No matter of my opion of police… Next…I have seen first hand the abuse of power that police have and how crooked they are.. I am sure they may be some good ones out there but now I have to treat them all as if they are not, I have been told stories by a former officer about what he and his buddies would do in JC and I then i saw what they done with my own eyes one night. I have a 14 year old daughter and I pound in her to NEVER trust the police. Everyone is entitled to there opinion.
Way to go proud Mom! Some people do not stop and think what danger police officers put their lives in when trying to make our world a little safer!
yeah dealer, that was mature! I’m a bad mom because I put you in your place. Get a life and try to use spell check the next time you want to “get me back”
I am very glad the drugs are off the street. If I were to go into what I have seen police officers do that made a positive difference, it would be a waste of my time and the other readers. All you would do would be come up with yet another idiotic comment.
Have a good day and I hope you eat crow one day soon!
Police do protect us everyday in ways we will never know. Yes, each and every one of us. By stopping drunk drivers that could kill us, by arresting robbers that could have robbed us, and the list goes on and on. I have had a bad experience with a cop…but I have also had a bad experience with a waitress but I don’t think all waitresses are bad. You shouldn’t group everyone together. There are some really great officers in our area that do alot of good work and they do protect every citizen that lives here whether it be directly or indirectly and some will admit it and some wont. I cringe to think of what this world would be like without them. And to those that don’t get out there every day and risk their lives and take the chance of not coming home to their family…how can you criticize…how can you put down the very people that make it possible for us to live in an area that in all reality does not have a high crime rate. And…who do you think we have to thank for that? It surely isn’t the negative posters here. What have you done to make this world a better place?
That is the problem with people like you bad_mom. You assume EVERYTHING! Now I asume you must me a bad mother because of your comments. I can assure they have NEVER done anything helpful for me. You have such insight to my life…then tell me, firsthand what the did? Since, of course, it’s all about me. Now, I’m pleased to death that the insane about of drugs was taking off the streets. However, I saw, with my own eyes how f’ed up and dirty cops can be. I have a son…full custody, I might add, and it saddens me that this area has become drug infested. Touche, You know me too well….I had to post again.
My comment is to deal_taker..
Now it is obvious you have had a bad experience with the police, we all have, you are not alone.
There are plenty of bad cops out there, as well as bad doctors, bad teachers, bad neighbors, bad parents and bad people in general. I am going to go ahead and assume you fall into one of those catagories due to your comment. I say this because it takes an idiot to post a comment like that. There are children that read this and to make that statement about our police officers could put that idea into their heads. That is all we need is another future jerk in the world.
If you really think your comment is true, I feel sorry for you. There have been times a “clown” has saved your sorry life and you don’t even realize it because you are too wrapped up in “it’s all about me” BS…
My father is a police officer, and I have seen FIRST HAND what kind of danger they put themselves into, and for who??? idiots like you that don’t even appreciate it.
Yes, you have the right to say whatever you wish, as do I. If someone, especially a child, wants to look up to police officers, don’t make them feel like they should be ashamed or call them clowns. You only show how ignorant you really are.
So… go ahead… post another, we all know you will.
I agree that there is a huge question as to how someone could obtain such a ludicrous number of these pills and I hope that the answer to that is found.
But, this drug does a tremendous amount of good when used properly and not handed out so easily by physicians. When this drug was first introduced it was for the extreme pain associated with Cancer and other terminal and debilitating diseases. For some reason the pill mill physicians started writing prescriptions for it’s use for less severe conditions and thus a star absue drug was born. The makers of oxycontin willingly and without reluctance agree to reformulate the drug to make it less abusable but one can only do so much with such a potent drug and keep it’s potency. I lost a parent to Cancer and thank my lucky stars that they were able to have this drug available to them to ease their pain in their final days, without it I can only imagine the suffering they would have had to endure.
Physicians should not be able to write a prescription for this medication unless they get approval somewhere from someone or stict guidelines need to be set as to what it can be prescribed for. It is too easily to obtain because so many phsycians too readily write prescriptions for everything. Every time I went to my “Former” dr. they wanted to give me a prescription for a mood altering drug, insisting that I was stressed and depressed. Well, everyone is stressed and I know Im not depressed. Do they get a kick back for those or something?
“oxycontin is a horrible horrible drug that has led to so much pain and death for so many people.“
In that case, Evaningstar, wouldn’t it be more appropriate to drop a cruise missile in on the plant where they are manufactured ?
Seriously….WHERE does a local yokel from Blountville come up with 153k worth of pills ? Is there not some chain of custody from the manufacturer to the legal pill pushers ? ( Pharmacies ) Do people that work at the manufacturer get to leave with HEAVY lunchboxes every day ??
WHY is it you never hear of how things like this GET to the street ? Could it be that would step on some important toes ?
My point exactly, Deal_Taker.
But, hey….what’s a Constitution compared to eliminating competition and keeping the sales of drugs confined to a store where the State collects sales tax and fees from licensing the pushers.
As George Bush is rumored to have said: “It’s JUST a GD piece of paper”......
Way to go!!! What a large stash off the streets, another dealer bites the dust. Thanks for continuing the fight on these drugs oxycontin is a horrible horrible drug that has led to so much pain and death for so many people.
Keep up the good work and hope to see more of the same!!!!
