BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Election officials in one northeast
Tennessee county say multiple voters have been given incorrect
ballots and voted in the wrong state House race during early
voting.
Sullivan County Administrator of Elections Gena Frye said three
or four voters at the Kingsport Civic Auditorium were given ballots
containing the District 1 race instead of the District 2 race.
Frye told the Kingsport Times-News that the voters caught the
mistakes and were given the correct ballots before casting their
votes.
But Frye said two other voters called to complain after casting
the wrong ballots. She said the problems were first identified on
Tuesday.
As of Thursday, more than 22,000 early ballots have been cast in
Sullivan County. Early voting continues through Oct. 30.
