Youth Auditions Announced for Barter Theatre’s Christmas Show

Abingdon, VA – Barter Theatre will be holding auditions for male and female young actors for roles in the upcoming production of WMKS: Christmas 1942 on Saturday, September 12 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Barter Theatre’s Main Stage in Abingdon.

Barter is seeking: Boys or Girls ages 5-10, 4’5” or under who can act and sing.  These are paid, professional positions. The role will be double cast. 

Auditionees should prepare a short song and bring their sheet music with them to the audition so our accompanist can play along. Children may also be asked to read a short passage that Barter will provide at the audition. There is no need to sign up in advance for these auditions, but auditionees must arrive a little before 10 a.m. at Barter Theatre on September 12 to complete paperwork.

WMKS: Christmas 1942 plays during the Christmas season at Barter and begins rehearsal in mid-October. For the exact date and time of each performance, see our Web site, http://www.bartertheatre.com. Please bring any conflict dates that you have to the audition.
