"A Midsummer Night’s Dream" to be Presented by The Highlands Ballet Company March 29 and 30
"...I know a bank where the wild thyme blows, Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows…"
With dazzling charm and a magical touch that glows with every step, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" showcases the talents of the Highlands Ballet Company's dancers and directors at the Paramount Center for the Arts on March 29 and 30.
Deep in a forest faery realm ruled by King Oberon and his Queen Titania unfolds the age-old story of the adventures and misadventures, the problems and confusions of loving and being loved. Adapted from William Shakespeare's famous comedy and featuring beautiful music by Felix Mendelssohn, the ballet weaves an enchanting tale with breathtaking imagery for audiences of all ages.
Watch as the infamous Puck plies his trademark mischief, creating star-crossed lovers, misunderstandings and meaningless quarrels, and all-around chaos with his enchanted flowers and magical spells.
Performances at the Paramount Center
for the Arts in Bristol are scheduled for Saturday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 30, at 2:30 p.m.
