Chippendales in Bristol March 7

Fellas, look elsewhere. Ladies, if bow-tied, bottom-shakin’ dudes are your thing, then read on. The Chippendales are coming to town. Yes, the clothing-challenged Chippendales will appear on March 7 at the VFW in Bristol Tennessee.
A group of seven chiseled Charlies in various stages of undress who wiggle and wag for hollering women, that’s the Chippendales. Hey, not a bad gig if you can get it – dancing for women in various stages of frenzy.
But hey, ladies, if slicked up and dressed down dudes are your thing, then giddy-up.
Seriously, even though VFW member Gary Maiden said he knows next to nothing about the Chippendales and certainly hasn’t seen them perform, he said their appearance at the VFW is a good thing.
“This is a big deal for us,” Maiden said on Monday afternoon. “We’ve made some revenue off of it.”
Folks may recall an appearance by the Chippendales several years back in Bristol Virginia. Maiden said the Chippendales initially rebuffed the VFW’s efforts to book them because of their experiences in Bristol Virginia.
“Somebody told me that they had to go behind a screen when they had to change,” Maiden said. But when assured the VFW sits just across the state line in Bristol Tennessee, the show was booked. Maiden said that to the best of his knowledge, the dancers have had no issues while performing recent shows in Tennessee, citing appearances in such locales as Jackson and Memphis.
The Chippendales are not porn on parade. Husbands and boyfriends need not worry as touching or fondling or otherwise nefarious actions are not allowed.
Turn on a television at most any hour, and more skin can be seen. Watch competitive swimmers, and you will see more than will be seen of the Chippendales.
“They do not strip everything off,” Maiden said. “Their fans know what they do.”
Tickets to those fans are going fast. Maiden said several hundred tickets had been sold. He expects a sell-out show and will sure be happy about that.
“This is a legal way for us to make a little money for our club and the honor guard to bury veterans,” Maiden said. “We don’t make enough money off alcohol sales to even pay for the help. We do a lot of good stuff here.”
