Barter Theatre’s big musical of the season is “Evita.” Tim Rice’s and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s spectacular story is about the rise and fall of Eva Duarte Perón, the Argentine actress who purveyed her sexuality and charisma into near-sainthood between 1945 and her death in 1952.

Comedienne Lily Tomlin To Headline Barter Theatre Fundraising Event

Storytelling Live! Season Premiere at the International Storytelling Center
The 7th annual season of Storytelling Live! begins this week at the International Storytelling Center with nationally renowned storyteller, Bil Lepp. He will be telling stories daily June 3 – June 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults; $9 for seniors, students, and children under 18. Groups of 25 or more are also welcome to make a reservation for a reserved morning performance. The Center is open 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
Theatre Bristol closes season with Cabaret
Cabaret is the last show on the 2007-2008 Theatre Bristol season. Performance dates are June 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 & 21, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. and June 15 & 22, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Ticket prices are: Adults $15 and Seniors (over 62)/Students $12. All performances of Cabaret are at Theatre Bristol’s ARTspace, limited seating, reservations suggested. Reservations can be made by calling Theatre Bristol (423) 968-4977. Cabaret contains adults themes and language.

Review: Barter’s “Don’t Cry for Me, Margaret Mitchell’
“Don’t Cry for Me, Margaret Mitchell” could easily pass for one of Neal Simon’s best plays such as “The Odd Couple” or “The Sunshine Boys,” but it’s by Duke Ernsberger and Virginia Cate, two howlingly whacky playwrights – a mother and son team, no less.
