BEETHOVEN, BACH and HAYDN
Sounds like a law firm, doesn’t it? Pianist Brad Arington can relate.
Arington will present works by Beethoven, Bach and yes Haydn on Oct. 23 at Emory & Henry College in Emory, Va. A musician with extensive training, Arington will offer a program that speaks to his accomplished years-long efforts on the 88s.
Ah, but about that law reference. Arington happens to practice law in Silicon Valley, Calif, that is when he’s not playing music.
Catch the Glade Spring, Va., native when he lays aside the law and returns to the scene of some of his earlier music studies at E&H and Virginia Intermont College. His stay short, his music strong and his law for the moment will be laid while manning the piano.

ZOMBIE!
Eight days early. With a name like Misplaced My Zombie, one may imagine that the band of rockers would be quite a howl for Halloween.
Instead, Misplaced My Zombie will plug in and plow forth on Oct. 23 at The Hideaway in Johnson City. Now, from their name, it appears that the unusually named band plays horror-themed music.
Not true. Instead, Misplaced My Zombie is a quirky Nashville-based punk rock trio. They feature a sound built on frenzied guitar and lyrics performed tongue plunged into cheek.
Just check out the titles to their EPs. First came “No Hit Wonders” and now the brand new “Jesus Drove a Chevy.” Halloween band? No. Humorous band? You bet.
