See “The Wizard of Oz” at Barter Theatre in Abingdon from May 29 through Aug. 9.
Then, head a little ways along Main Street in Abingdon to Robert Weisfeld’s Star Museum for “All About Oz,” the museum’s exhibit relating to “The Wizard of Oz.”
Set for showing also from May 29 through Aug. 9, the museum’s collection includes pieces on loan from collectors Alan Pickrell and Jay Lavigne.
See autographs, memorabilia such as clothing and photographs from the 1939 film’s stars, including pieces once owned by Judy Garland.
See the “Oz” pieces, but then look around the museum for eclecticism on display. It’s no walk along the yellow brick road, but the Star Museum qualifies as a wondrous place to visit.

SNOW WHITE
Grace and grandeur intertwine when the Theatre of Ballet Arts stages “Snow White” on May 30 at the Paramount Center for the Arts in Bristol, Tenn.
Classic story meets classic dance. Bring a child-like imagination and a wide-open mind.
The story? A queen gave birth to a child after which the queen died. The child was named Princess Snow White. So goes the beginning of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” as translated from a German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.
The king’s second wife, a vain, magic mirror-toting beauty, gradually grows jealous of Snow White and seeks her death. Adventure follows as Snow White encounters the Seven Dwarfs as the timeless tale unfolds.
