11 CONNECTS WITH SMALL BUSINESS: Crown Laboratories

Crown Laboratories makes Blue Lizard Australian Suncream and several other skin care products, but Blue Lizard stands out the most. This well known sunscreen is made right here in the Tri-Cities. Over 30 employees work for Crown Laboratories which is based in Johnson City, Tennessee.  CEO Jeff Bedard said the all of the success his company has received over the years wouldn’t be possible without the people who work at Crown.
“The employees are so committed to making just the best products that are available,“ said Bedard.
Crown was formed in Australia in 1995 and began manufacturing products in the U.S. in 2001. Bedard said he’s proud to live and work in Johnson City and to be a part of the Tri-Cities.
“The community has embraced us, they’ve welcomed us. It’s great to go out to the golf courses to the swimming pools, to the lake and see people holding up a bottle of Blue Lizard and buying local products that are really number one in the world in terms of protection, so technology is strong here,“ Bedard said.
Crown Laboratories also make medicated shampoos, moisturizers and other skin condition products. Bedard hopes to start producing even more products in the future.
“There are just a number of great opportunities here and I see nothing but great success for our company,“ said Bedard.
