Abingdon Lists Slate Of Upcoming Events

ABINGDON, Va. – At the farmers’ market pavilion on Wednesday, town officials announced this year’s schedule of events.

"We want everyone to be there or be square," said Town Manager Greg Kelly.

Saturday – Abingdon Farmers’ Market opening day at the market pavilion.

April 25 & 26 – Highlands Jazz Festival at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center.

May 23 – "Yesterday Once More" Dance at the Higher Education Center.

May 24 – Plumb Alley Day concert: The Collegians at the market pavilion.

June 23 – Bike Virginia concert: Dixie Bee Liners and Susan Brown & Friends at the market pavilion.

June 28 – Blues Festival at Latture Field.

July 4 – Fireworks and fun at the Harry L. Coomes Recreation Center.

July 26 – Virginia Highlands Festival 60th year kickoff concert on Main Street.

Sept. 6 – Concert: Secrets at the market pavilion.

Oct. 4 – Abingdon 230th anniversary celebration at the market pavilion.

Oct. 25 – Sleepy Hollow Party at the market pavilion.
