Two charged after Bristol convenience store robbery

BRISTOL, Va. – Two people were charged with armed robbery and grand larceny after police say they robbed the Commonwealth Avenue Chevron early Saturday morning.
According to a news release, Tera Booher Hamrick, 41, of Flint Street, Bristol, Tenn., was arrested shortly after the crime.
Jason Dewayne Holt, 26, was arrested in Bristol Tennessee nearly 20 hours after fleeing police, and additionally was charged with use of a firearm in commission of a felony and felony eluding police, said Bristol Virginia Police Sgt. Eric Turner.
According to the release, Bristol Virginia Police responded to the convenience store at 1009 Commonwealth Ave., at about 3:15 a.m. Saturday when an officer en route spotted a vehicle suspected of being involved near the intersection of Euclid and Piedmont avenues.
K-9 Officer Brandon Barr tried to stop the car, which fled, and the officer pursued through residential neighborhoods before crossing into Tennessee. The car stopped at the dead end of Marion Avenue at the American Legion Building, the release indicated.
The driver ran away and officers from both Bristol Virginia and Bristol Tennessee searched but were unable to find the suspect.
Hamrick, a passenger in the car, was taken into custody and charged with armed robbery and grand larceny.
Holt, of 9218 Wagner Road, Bristol, Va., was arrested around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and taken to Sullivan County Correctional facility where he will await extradition to Virginia.
Hamrick also was being held at the jail in Sullivan County, Tenn.
