APPALACHIAN LEAGUE: BriSox Sweep Princeton In Doubleheader

BRISTOL, Va. – The Bristol White Sox defeated the Princeton Rays 6-1 in the first game of Friday night’s doubleheader.
Starting pitcher Onarkys Paniagua led the BriSox (28-25) by pitching a seven-inning complete game, allowing only four hits for his fourth win of the season.
The offense was led by third baseman Hancer Vargas. BriSox manager Bobby Thigpen moved Vargas into the leadoff spot before the game and the Dominican Republic-native responded by collecting two hits and a run.
In the nightcap, Kenneth Gilbert homered and drove in six runs as the BriSox cruised to a 15-2 win over the Rays. Brent Graffy worked five strong innings for his first victory of the season.
Bristol will play Princeton tonight at 7 p.m. at DeVault Stadium.
