Coach Austin won’t call this a rebuilding year, but with the graduation of a stellar senior class the third-year coach will be forced to rely upon a slew of unproven youngsters in 2008. One such youngin’ is Cody Carter, a sophomore running back faced with the unenviable task of replacing Brett Leedy and Morgan Ireson at halfback. Even so, Austin is pleased by Carter’s summer sacrifice and commitment, and is encouraged by one of the best freshman classes he’s ever seen.
