Outlook: The Rebels ultimate strength lies with its line, which returns every starter and has been bolstered by the arrival of transfer Robbie Rife. This means that sophomore running back William Rawlins should have plenty of running room in 2008 to build on his 600-yard freshman season debut. If Rawlins is not able to shake the injury bug (he hurt his knee on the first contact drill of the year and it won’t be diagnosed by doctors until August 19) the bulk of the offensive responsibilities will fall to senior quarterback Clint Justus and junior running back Gary Blankenship. With so many talented underclassmen, the Rebels will be able to challenge Haysi and Honaker for the BDD championship – in a few years.
