ESSENTIAL GRADUATION INFORMATION

The 2008 graduation ceremony for J.J. Kelly High School is set for May 23 at 6 p.m. at Carroll Dale Stadium in Wise, Va.

The Baccalaureate service is scheduled for Sunday, May 18, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at the Wise Baptist Church in Wise, Virginia.  This event is sponsored and planned by the Norton-Wise Ministerial Association along with the Senior Class Officers and the SCA Executive Officers. 

“Charles Collins, principal at J. J. Kelly High School, feels the Class of 2008 is an exceptional group of students.  They have excelled as a class and as individuals, both in and out of the classroom.  These students have made outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, and extracurricular and co-curricular activities and have received many accolades.  They have faced demanding academic requirements and have met the challenge.  This group of students was required to meet stringent SOL requirements in order to receive verified credits toward graduation. 

The Class of 2008 is dynamic and hard-working with goals clearly in place. They are a group prepared to be productive young people who will achieve their goals, whether they pursue academics or a career. Each of us at J. J. Kelly is proud of them and their achievements.

As they look forward to their futures, these graduates can be proud of their accomplishments both in and out of the classroom.  They are the future, and they are well-prepared.  They have been leaders to their peers and will become the leaders of our future.  On behalf of the school, community, and parents, I congratulate the Class of 2008; may you achieve your ultimate goals as you enter tomorrow’s world.”
