Woman Faces Charges of Embezzling $20,000 from Racquet Club

A Butler woman has been charged with embezzling money from the Yonahlossee Racquet Club in Watauga Co., NC.

On June 8, the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the club in reference to allegations that an employee had embezzled more than $20,000. After an investigation, officers have arrested April Dawn Welsh, 39, of 1458 Dry Hill Road, Butler, Tenn.

Welsh has been charged with one count of embezzlement. She was transported by Johnson County, Tenn. Sheriff’s Office at her home in Butler to Watagua County, NC. She was given a $5,000 secured bond and will appear in court again on Sept. 15.
