Joe Biden Coming to Castlewood, VA on Saturday

Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden will appear at the 13th Annual UMWA Fish Fry in Castlewood on Saturday.

The program starts at 1 pm at the Russell County Fairgrounds, according to a news release from the Obama campaign. 

Barack Obama already has made two visits to Southwest Virginia since securing the Democratic Party’s nomination, emphasizing the importance of Virginia in the upcoming election.

Sam Church, UMWA official, told News Channel 11 Morning Edition that his organization learned of Biden’s visit Thursday.  ‘We hoped to get Obama,“ Church said.  Church, who expects Biden will arrive around 2 pm, said the Obama / Biden ticket represents an understanding of America’s working-class.
