Hampton, Tenn—The Carter County Coroner, Tennessee State Trooper Mark Musick, Carter County deputies, emergency workers, and a tow truck responded to a fatal crash in the Hampton Community Sunday night.

Carter County dispatchers received the call around 8:00 p.m.

An unidentified man drove off the right side of Ray Simerly Road—near the intersection of Falls and Fairview roads.  The crash site was at the top of a steep incline, and within the boundaries of the Cherokee National Forest.

Musick said the driver was alone, and his vehicle was the only one involved in this crash.

It was the second fatal automobile crash in Carter County in less than a week.
