=====================
A Rogersville teenager has been charged with willful elder abuse after police say he assaulted his 60 year old grandmother. Police say 19 year old Johnny Skeens, 309 Western Heights Drive, Rogersville, assaulted his 60 year old grandmother, Kathy Lawson. The victim’s brother, Charles Jarvis, told police the abuse by Skeens had been an ongoing problem for the last year. Jarvis also told the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Department that his sister would not ask for help from anyone. Officers went to speak with Kathy Lawson at her home, at which time an officer noticed several obvious bruises on her arms and face. Mrs. Lawson also stated that she had a large bruise on her left leg. She told the officers that her grandson, Johnny Skeens, was responsible for the bruises.
The Kingsport Times-News reports that the arrest warrant states that that Skeens would ask his grandmother for money and if she did not give it to him that he would assault her. They say the report also states an incident in which Skeens asked Lawson to borrow her car on October 31, and when she would not let him take it, that he assaulted her over it. The report states that Skeens struck her in the face, kicked her in the legs and twisted her wrist.

I bet Boot Camp would give him a new attitude.
What a tough guy…i bet hes real proud of himself…another case of lockem up, and throw away the key.
How many charges since July of 2008? Why the crap is even on the street?!?!? Swift justice? ha! Maybe instead of letting him out on bail, just an immediate week of solitary confinement in a black hole of a cell; yes, he’s a punk and needs to be punished for his crime, it’s time to fix our justice system so it deters the crime before it happens - Harsh SWIFT punishment for the crime!!
I’m not necessarily advocating this approach for today, but in the Old Testament, this youth would have been turned into the elders who after determining the veracity of his offenses, would have then taken him out and stoned him to death. It sounds cruel, but sometimes that is the only way that society can rid itself of this type of incorrigible behavior. We tend to think in terms of rehabilitation, but I fear the damage has been done and he will always be this type of punk.
I have an idea….how about a big TALL tree and a SHORT piece of rope. You can’t rehabilitate stupidity. Its a terrible epidemic. It is genetic and it is also contagious. Take him out.
If this young man is truly guilty, I hope and pray he is met with stiff justice.
Cruelty like this must be met with a cold cruel punishment.
Perhaps it’s time for some vigilante street justice in this matter.
Good thing his grandmother is not like mine,because she would kill me as she should and I am 34 years old!!But he will get what is coming in jail,even the inmates have more respect than this.
He’s no-good, he has no respest,no compassion! The sad thing is that prison wont help, but only make him worse.
Why didnt someone turn this little punk in the first time he abused his grandmother?? How anyone could be cold hearted enough to do this to anyone, let alone your own grandmother is beyond me. My heart goes out to her, and I hope he gets what he deserves !
