Preparations Continued Wednesday For The Arrival Of Presidential Hopeful Barack Obama In Virginia

Obama campaign staffers and law enforcement took care of some last minute details on Monday before Senator Barack Obama arrived in Bristol, Virginia. The democrat will hold a town hall style meeting at Virginia High School Thursday at 11:45a.m. The doors will open at 9:45a.m.
“It’s one of the most exciting things to happen to Bristol and the region in a long, long time,“ said Bill Locke, Obama supporter.
Other supporters like James Countiss believe that Obama is the right candidate for to be president.
“I like the excitement of the campaign and being important in our history,“ Countiss said.
Tickets for the rally were gone as of Wednesday morning leaving some supporters to try and find other ways to get in and see the candidate.
“Tickets are gone, so we may volunteer tomorrow, just to get in,“ said Harry Clift, Obama supporter.
Thousands of people are expected to pack the Virginia High gymnasium and police are going to great lengths to make sure everything goes as planned.
The Secret Service will be at the town hall meeting along with the Virginia State Police and officers with the Bristol, Virginia Police Department.
“Of course with an event of this magnitude we have concerns with security for one and the safety of the public,“ Said Captain Maynard Ratcliff, Bristol, Virginia Police Department.
Ratcliff says they will be up to the challenge of handling a big crowd.
