Traffic Stop In Kingsport Results In Arrest Of Man Possibly Wanted For Murder In NY

A suspect wanted by the FBI in possible connection to several murder cases in New York is behind bars this Monday afternoon in Kingsport.
UPDATE: Three people were arrested on drug charges Sunday following a traffic stop in Kingpsort. Two of those arrested are also wanted in New York.
Anthony Watts is wanted by U.S. Marshalls on violation of parole. While Damien Pughe is wanted by the FBI on robbery and weapons charges. Sources also tell News Channel Eleven, Pughe is being investigated on a number of other crimes in New York, including a string of murders.
The third person in the vehicle was Jesse Wright of Church Hill. Police say they don’t know why the men were in Kingsport, and why they were with Wright.
134 grams of crack and 167 Oxycontin pills were found in the vehicle. All were charged with possession with intent to distribute. Watts is also facing criminal impersonation charges.
All three are being held at the Kingsport City Jail.

Police say they made the arrest Sunday afternoon during a traffic stop. Two men were arrested in the stop on drug charges. It was later learned they were wanted by The U.S. Marshalls Office and The FBI, on robbery and weapons charges. Thats when it was learned there could be a connection to murders in New York. Investigators are looking into that.
Police have not released many details right now.
News Channel 11’s Scott Draper is investigating this developing story. He reports, police plan to issue a statement later today on the arrest.
