Netherland Inn Road Boat Ramp Closed As City Works Out A Deal

» 1 Comment | Post a Comment

News Channel Eleven has received numerous phone calls over the last few weeks from concerned residents wanting to know why the boat ramp on Netherland Inn Road in Kingsport is now closed.  Signs posted say “No Trespassing”, and barriers are blocking access to the parking area.  According to the city, the property is owned by a private citizen, and that person does not want to deal with the liability issues involved. Currently the city and property owner are in negotiations to either lease the land or possibly purchase it.  Two appraisals have been done by the city, but no decision has yet been made.  Any plan will have to go before the board of Mayor and Alderman before a decision is made.  They hope to have the issue worked out within a few weeks.
