Traffic stop leads to drug arrest:
Thursday, June 11 at 11:44 p.m., the Johnson City Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a car, driven by John D. Humphrey, 182 Green Pond Rd, Johnson City. Originally stopped for a minor traffic violation, the officer found that Humphrey had a revoked drivers’ license. He was placed in custody for driving on a revoked license, 6th offense, and officers searched the vehicle.
The search uncovered 99 Oxycodone 30 mg tablets, several spoons with residue and several syringes.
Humphrey was also charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center with a $12,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 15.
Man arrested for attempting to run over girlfriend:
Officers with the JCPD were also called out Thursday night to investigate a domestic dispute. Officers arrested Miguel Quiroga, 23, 30 Crescent St, Johnson City for attempting to run over his girlfriend with a car at 3909 Timberlake Road. He is currently in the Washington County Detention center with a $25,000 bond. He has a preliminary hearing in sessions court on June 15 at the Downtown Centre.
Burglary thwarted, ex-boyfriend apprehended:
Johnson City Police responded to a burglary Thursday night on Plymouth Road. According to reports, officers found that the victim’s ex-boyfriend kicked in the front door of the home to gain entry – but fled before they got there. The suspect, James Price, 45, 743 E. Main Street, was caught a short time later. He is in the Washington County Detention Center, charged with felony aggravated burglary and violation of an order of protection. He is being held on a $21,000 bond and will appear in sessions court on June 15.
Woman charged with stealing thousands from local gas station:
On Thursday, June 11, investigators with the JCPD arrested Lynda Wooley, 55, of 1108 Summer Street, Apt. B-10 and charged her with theft over $1,000. The arrest is the result of an investigation into several thousand dollars worth of voided sales at a Johnson City Roadrunner store where Wooley was employed.
She was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention center on a $10,000 bond. She will appear in court on June 15.
