The results are in…Greeneville will soon have a new mayor.

UPDATE:  The Town of Greeneville will have a new Mayor come July, and incumbents will return to their seats on the school board and the board of mayor and alderman.  Here are how the votes stacked up:

MAYOR RACE:
Darrell Bryan (Incumbent) - 1,021
Laraine King - 1,088 (winner)
Eddie O’Brien - 23
Write-In - 2

ALDERMAN 2ND WARD (VOTE FOR 2):
W.T. Daniels - 627 (winner)
Sarah Webster - 715 (winner)
Write-In - 5

SCHOOL BOARD 2ND WARD (VOTE FOR 2):
Jerry Anderson (Incumbent) - 438 (winner)
Olivia Lodge - 413
Cindy Luttrell (Incumbent) - 529 (winner)
Fred Quarles - 307
Debra Sandercock - 61
Write-In - 1

The election commission told us tonight that the winners will begin their terms in office July 1.

Voters head to the polls in Greeneville today. The polls will remain open until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The mayor’s race is one of several on the ballot.

Mayor At Large Candidates:
Darrel M. Bryan
Laraine King
Eddie H. O’Brien

Voters will also deicide on two aldermen and two school board positions to represent the second ward.

Aldermen – 2nd Ward
W.T. Daniels
Sarah E. T. Webster

School Board Member – 2nd Ward
Jerry L. Anderson
Olivia Roberts Lodge
Cindy Lee Luttrell
Fred Quarles
Debra Sandercock

There are seven voting prescient and polling locations:
Polling locations:

Tusculum View:
-Vote at Tusculum View Elementary School

East View:
-Vote at East View Recreation Center (near the East View Elementary School)

High School:
-Vote Greeneville High School

Highland Roby Prescient:
-Vote at the Rescue Squad Building on Church Street

Andrew Johnson
-Vote at the Andrew Johnson Building
(same building as the Nathaniel Greene museum)

Courthouse
-Vote at the Greene County Courthouse

Middle School
-Vote at Greeneville Middle School

All voters will weigh in on the mayor’s race.
Ward two voters will report to Andrew Johnson, Courthouse and Middle School polling locations.

Results are expected to be completed around 9p.m.
