Woman Hit In Family Race Night Accident In Serious Condition

A Bristol, Tennessee woman was hit by a truck during the events surrounding Family Race Night on State Street in Bristol, VA.

According to a hospital spokeswoman, Daniels is in serious condition today at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

A Bristol, Tennessee woman was hit by a truck during the events surrounding Family Race Night on State Street in Bristol, VA.

Bristol, Virginia Police report it happened around nine p.m. in the 500-block of State Street.

A freightliner hit 40-year-old Deborah Sue Daniels of Spruce Street.

The police report says the Bristol, Tennessee woman was kneeling down trying to work on a tent. Daniels was reportedly in a blind spot for the truck driver.

According to the police report, the Harrisburg, North Carolina-based driver was 43-year-old Gregory Hunchuck of Berry Ridge Drive.

Hunchuck was trying to connect 2004 freightliner to a trailer. When he pulled the truck forward it hit Daniels, pushing her underneath the front end of the freightliner.

Bristol Virginia Police report the accident appears to be accidental. No charges are expected in this case.

Deborah Daniels was transported to Bristol Regional Medical Center. Officials have not released the extent of her injuries.

PLEASE everyone put Deborah in your prayers. Her only son is a good friend of my children and she is in serious condition. She is a good person with a wonderful,youthfull and outgoing attitude.
