Five Children Injured in Sullivan County Bus Accident

The school bus incident occurred on Green Hills Drive in Colonial Heights.

Five children have been injured in a school-bus incident that took place at 11 a.m. this morning in Colonial Heights.
According to officials with Sullivan County schools, five students were taken to Holston Valley Hospital with minor injuries.
There were 10-12 children on the bus at the time of the crash and five students were taken to the hospital to be checked as a precaution. 
According to Captain Keith Elton with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office they are continuing investigations into the cause of the accident.
The driver of a 2006 Honda Civic, said officials, struck the school bus in the rear tire area on the driver’s side of the bus after the school bus pulled onto Green Hill Drive. The Honda Civic was operated by Dale Glenn, 62 years of age, and the bus was driven by Clarence Taylor, 62 years of age.
The students were being transported home from Colonial Heights Middle School after school was dismissed today for the Christmas break.
