Chuckey, Tenn.—On Friday, Greene County Deputies made a stop at the Freshour Trailer Park to serve an outstanding warrant.

The suspect they were looking for had moved out months ago, but his trailer wasn’t empty.

Deputies found three unsupervised children inside (ages four, four, and two).  They had toys, a blanket, and crackers with them.  At least one child was naked.

The kids ran next door—from 85 to 89 Freshour Park.  The deputies followed them and uncovered conditions “adverse to the children’s welfare.“

The mother of all three children, 27-year-old Crystal Whittenmore, was asleep in bed.  Her boyfriend, 23-year-old Bennjerman Geiger, was beside her.

According to court records, deputies found a bag of white powder (believed to be a schedule II narcotic) and drug paraphernalia in plain sight.  Whittenmore and Geiger had no idea where the children were, deputies said.

The adjacent room (the kids’ bedroom) had feces smeared on the walls.  It had been there for weeks.

Both Whittenmore and Geiger were arrested, booked, and placed on $34,000 bond each.  Their charges include the following: child abuse, child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule II narcotics.

The arrest was Whittenmore’s first and Geiger’s seventh.

Both defendants were arraigned in Greene County Criminal Court Monday morning.  The judge raised Geiger’s bond to $42,000 and scheduled the couple’s next appearance for June 10th.

The children were placed in a temporary foster home, as the Department of Childrens’ Services works out long-term placement.

capttrips25, no one will ever be able to take away the drug “market” and drug dealers simply will never go out of buisness.  To do this one would have to completely redo the human physiology and take away the mechanisims that react to drugs.  As long as there are human beings walking the earth, there will be a “market” in one form or another.

capttrips25, the cemetery you are referring to is the large cemetery with the very large cross statue?  If so that is beautiful country back there and I really hope it stays that way.

I also hope the children in the news peice find a safer home environment.  Very sad story.

A while back I observed a suspicious couple with a small child at the miners memorial at Temple Hill cemetery in Castlewood Virginia. The cemetery has become a haven for dope dealing so I began to video them with my cell phone. They got scared and left but forgot there needles, spoons and dope. I call the sheriffs department who sent deputies to collect the items as well as the pictures I took.
The road going trough the cemetery is called “Seven Springs RD”, there are only a few houses down that road but on the weekends it looks like a main highway. They say there is a meth lab back there or maybe its just someone selling. The point is, everyone here knows who’s selling and where to get it, (even people who don’t use). The police say they know but are trying to catch the main person. Meanwhile these junkies and thieves drive our neighborhoods into a state that resembles a big city problem.
I would ask the police department to stop waiting to catch a big fish and start cleaning up the huge mess that is going to destroy our community and poison out kids. This cant wait. Take away the market and the supplier will go out of business!

I hope these kids find a loving home, where somebody will care for them.
