Sunshine Week March 16-22: Public Records and Your Right to Know

Sunshine Week runs March 16-22, 2008 and is a national initiative designed to ecourage conversations and discussions about the importance of open government. Journalists, civic groups, schools and various non-profits use this week to request and obtain public records as a means of monitoring compliance with laws that are designed to ensure citizens have access to their governments.

 

Tricities.com reporter Nicki Mayo talked with Tennessee Coalition for Open Government executive director Frank Gibson about Sunshine Week.
