Tennessee early voting starts Friday July 18th and runs through August 2nd. Local election officials are really advocating people come out to vote early and vote often.

State primary and country general election races are on the line. This includes the highly contested district one congressional race here in Northeast Tennessee.

Early voting is one of two ways voters can cast their ballots before Election Day.

Early and mail-in ballots are convenient for voters and offer an early glimpse into voter trends. In order to vote early you have to show up in person to your designated polling place. The early voting window opens up 20 days before the election and ends five days before the election.
Some polling places are open on Saturdays, but they are closed on holidays.
Tennessee lawmakers are working on House Bill 1256 which calls for optical scanners and voter verified paper ballots by 2010.

While voting early may be a smart thing to do, voting often could get you into trouble!!!
