Travis Berry led the University of Virginia’s College at Wise with 17 points and Josh Jordan added 12 as the Cavaliers earned a 58-51 Mid-South Conference home win over No. 8 Lindsey Wilson Thursday night.
The Cavs (7-9, 4-5) held the Blue Raiders (15-5, 7-2) to 34.5 percent from the field as UVa-Wise’s forward Jermaine Wright held NAIA National Player of the Week Chase Spreen to just six points. The Cavs also forced 16 turnovers.

UVa-Wise losses to Lindsey Wilson
Former Clintwood High School star Kristin Mullins scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds for the University of Virginia’s College at Wise in an 80-76 Mid-South Conference loss to Lindsey Wilson.
UVa-Wise (5-15, 1-8) also received 17 points and eight rebounds from Chelsea Cluesman.

Patriots win Region 1-AA duals
Sullivan East overcame a 21-0 deficit to defeat Greeneville 37-36 in the championship match of the Region 1-AA duals on Tuesday in Greeneville, Tenn.
The Patriots advanced to the championship with an 81-0 win over South Greene in the semifinals.
The Patriots had pins from Ryan Whitiker, Justin Smith, Frankie Stigall, Bailey Hodge and Tanner Perry. Leo Isenhour and Steven Love added victories by decision with Isenhour’s 8-0 victory providing the extra team point that gave the Patriots the win.
The Patriots now advance to the TSSAA Class A/AA dual state tournament in Franklin, Tenn., on Feb. 3-4.
