The Petty Driving Experience, tickets available at BMS

»  Comments | Post a Comment

While any event at Bristol Motor Speedway is exhilarating, sliding through the window of a race car and tackling the high banks is an experience no true fan should miss.

On Friday, March 16, the Richard Petty Driving Experience Ride-Along program allows fans to suit up and feel the extreme speed and excitement of making laps around the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile” with a Driving Experience instructor.

Beginning at 9 p.m., fans can slip on a racing suit and climb aboard a Richard Petty Driving Experience machine for three laps around NASCAR’s most popular track.

Cost for the ride-along is $159 per person. To guarantee a spot, fans should pre-register at 1-800-237-3889 or at www.drivepetty.com. Riders should be 14 years of age or stand at least 4’ tall and weigh 80 pounds.

A limited number of rides are available, so anyone interested should register promptly. If the Ride-Along schedule is not filled by the day of the event, walk-ups will be accepted. Those who are pre-registered should arrive at the BMS garage entrance– near elevator tower G — 30 minutes prior to session.

In the case of inclement weather, participants get a credit that may be used at any Richard Petty Driving Experience event for up to one year.

A portion of the proceeds from the Richard Petty Driving Experience Ride-Alongs benefits the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities. SCC is a non-profit organization which raises funds for children’s agencies in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

A March race weekend package also is available starting at $99 that includes the Food City 500 and the Nationwide/K&N Pro Series East events. A package in the Wallace Tower for both Sprint Cup races also is now available for $99, while packages for fans 15 and younger are available for the March races at half price. Lower row seating for the Food City 500 is available, with tickets starting at $65.

BMS season tickets, which include the Food City 500 (March 18) and IRWIN Tools Night Race (Aug. 25) Sprint Cup races, as well as the Nationwide events and the K&N race, also are on sale. Pricing for all four races begins at just $175 in the Wallace Tower.
