In the second night of the Big Eight/Three Rivers Challenge, Sullivan East needed an extra period to down Daniel Boone 57-51. Fifteen points from Jonathan King didn’t hurt either.
King led the Pats (8-1) in scoring and was joined in the book by Garrett Carter (12 points) and Chance Davis (11).
Boone’s Ryan Gaitor led all scorers with 22 points.
Tennessee High 64, Unicoi County 43
The Vikings picked up their second win in two nights in the Big Eight/Three Rivers Challenge as Nathan Terrill led the way with 17 points.
Brennan Crandell (12 points), Austin Delph (11) and Adam Mitchell (10) also all reached double figures for the Vikings (8-1), who now have their second four-game winning streak of the season.
Davey Edwards led Unicoi County with 12 points.
Mountain Mission 64, Tri-Cities Christian 46
In Grundy, Drew Blythe and Brandon Jeter each scored a dozen points for Tri-Cities Christian, and Caleb Adkins added 11, but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles fell to Mountain Mission.
Council 61, Ervinton 48
Cameron Presley poured in 19 points and Josh Viers and Keeton Bostic both added 15 as the Cobras beat Ervinton.
Ervinton was led by Austin Counts’ 28 points and also got 10 from Skylar Hale.
Wise County Central 88, Patrick Henry 46
Jimmy Williams scored 21 points to lead the Warriors past the Rebels in the seventh-place game of the Alpha Natural Resources tournament at John Battle.
Twin Valley 64, Rye Cove 39
Chance Moore scored 21, Shannon Adams added 16 and Daniel Hobbs chipped in 10 as Twin Valley beat the Eagles in the fifth-place game at the Alpha Natural Resources tournament at John Battle.
John Battle 52, Holston 35
Derek Maiden scored 12, Brent Tipton and Ramen Luchini added 10 and Matthew McMurray led the way with 18 as the Trojans took third place in its home tournament.
Cloudland 45, Johnson Coutny 38
Dylan McCllenan scored 13 as Cloudland won the Alpha Natural Resources tournament at John Battle.
