BRISTOL, Tenn. — Ashley Deans scored a game-high 22 points as King College defeated the University of District of Columbia, 64-45, Thursday in only the Lady Tornado’s third home game of the season.
Deans (Greeneville, Tenn.) went 7-for-13 from the field and 8-for-8 at the free-throw line. The junior is four points away from 900 in her career, and has recorded 10 straight double-digit games.
King improved to 8-8 and reached .500 for the third time this season, but the team has not had a winning record to this point. The win also pushed a winning streak to three games, the longest of the season.
Derika Mooney (Athens, Tenn.) gathered a season-high eight rebounds with seven assists. Beth Raby (Farragut, Tenn.) had 16 points as well for King.
